The show has been hailed as a gentler, feminist version of Breaking Bad, and we couldn’t agree more. Since being added to Netflix, the crime caper has quickly risen to the fifth most-watched series on the streaming service.
But what Walter White and Jesse Pinkman lacked in terms of grace and style, the ladies of Good Girls make up for in droves. Between Beth, Annie and Ruby, we’ve been treated to some great fashion moments from the three leading ladies both on-screen and off!
STRIKE A POSE
At the center of all the drama is Beth Boland, played to perfection by Christina Hendricks. The self-confessed “cruise director” of the group, she explained her role to Emmy Magazine: “I get to play the mother, sister, wife, best friend, criminal and victim.” And what a stellar job she does.
Here she cuts a striking figure in a polka dot mini wrap dress by Jonathan Simkhai. She pairs the flirty nipped-in design perfectly with a pair of black Schutz stiletto pumps and subtle jewelry by Tacori.
The photo was posted to Instagram by Hendricks’ hairstylist Kat Thompson with the sweet caption: “She’s kind of unreal”. We couldn’t agree more, Kat!
Beauty and the City Vegan Bronzer Tint is light, gives a soft glow, and packs vitamins for projuvenation with none of the usual heavy pigmented bronzer mess.
COLD HARD STYLE
Ruby, Beth and Annie are at their sartorial finest in this tense scene from the season 1 penultimate episode “Summer of the Shark”. As the ladies ponder their latest plan, Beth is her sultry self in a svelte tan coat worn over bootleg blue jeans and high heel black leather boots. Annie looks on in easy-fit black navy-blue denim jeans, a black V-neck T-shirt and an edgy black bomber jacket. At the center is Ruby, looking chic and poised in slim blue denims, a cream turtleneck sweater and a sleek beige wrap coat. Looking good, ladies!
The ladies are a vision in white and matching florals, seen here at the 10th Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles. Wearing a straw boater hat, Christina Hendricks is at the forefront in the ‘Lacey’ floral dress by Reformation. Mae Whitman shows a flash of skin in a sheer white creation but it’s Retta’s yellow and green floral dress that is the true star. “I like the classics and I love color, color… and more color,” she told Fashionista.com.
READY TO VOGUE
We love seeing the cast all dolled up. They’re seen here in a behind-the-scenes shot from their 2019 article spread in Emmy Magazine. Channeling her on-screen feisty femme fatale persona, Hendricks is the picture of vintage glam in a floor-length navy-blue velvet gown. Retta is svelte and sleek in a stunning off-the-shoulder hot pink ballgown while Mae Whitman wears a flirty ruched red shift dress.
The show would be nothing without its three leading ladies and the easy-going camaraderie they all share. Posing before the NBC Universal Upfronts in 2018, their outfits perfectly reflect their individual personalities. Whitman is particularly dressed to impress in a sleek black and red jumpsuit paired with contrasting baby pink platform sandals. The ever-chic Retta is pretty in a pale pink chiffon high-neck dress and matching ballet flats. Hendricks meanwhile stuns in a bright and breezy striped dress by Temperley.
